Styx Gully Chardonnay
Wine
West Cape Howe Styx Gully Chardonnay draws on the Langton Vineyard's best blocks of Chardonnay. First established in 1978, the site contains some of the oldest vines in the Great Southern region.
Select parcels of fruit are handpicked and whole bunch pressed; the balance is picked in the cool of the night and processed promptly at the winery.
The juice is barrel fermented in a combination of new and seasoned French oak, then aged in barrel on lees. It typically does not undergo malolactic fermentation.
Very pale straw, West Cape Howe Styx Gully Chardonnay is complex but fruit driven in style, with gentle acidity providing length. Cellaring potential is five years.
